Due to our many avid readers, we are now running two book groups. Our newest book club, which meets on the third Friday at 10 am in the Hilo area, is open to additional members. The group vision is to read award winning literature, such as Pulitzer Prize, National Book and Booker Prize Winners. Our original book meets monthly on the second Sunday of the month in various member homes. We discuss a myriad of books, and enjoy sharing food with each other. Topics range from: Hawaiian culture (Daughters of Fire) to upcoming technologies (Abundance: The Future is Better than You Think), to historical novels (The Devil in the White City). We also hold a yearly two day book club retreat at a rented facility.
