Welcome all Branch Members to the 2022 State Convention!
Our theme this year is Climate Change and its Impact on Women. Topics will include the nexus between plastics and climate change, agroforestry as a solution, fisheries and ocean farming adaptations, social equity and indigenous perspectives. Our speakers come from the state legislature, University of Hawaii (Manoa and Hilo) and represent disciplines from environmental science, aquaculture, public policy, urban and regional planning.
The convention will be held from Friday evening September 30, 2022 to Sunday morning October 2, 2022 at the Kilauea Military Camp (31 miles from Hilo International Airport, about 1 hour drive). KMC is located within Volcano National Park on Hawaii Island, (map of the area). The grounds are spacious with many small cottages and apartment units located throughout. All meetings and dining will be held in the KOA Room. This is a military camp so guests must have a military connection which we have established for the convention.
Room selections and reservations instructions here.
Register here and you will receive an email invoice for $175, which includes all meals and use of the KOA Room. Once you have registered on our website, you may opt out of the invoice and, instead, send a check, payable to AAUW Hilo Branch, for $175 to PO Box 6132, Hilo, HI 96720.
